As a new wife I was determined to make a delicious and memorable first Thanksgiving! I was always confident in making blackberry cobbler, a family recipe I was taught at an early age (an heirloom so to say,) so that was my plan…knock my husband’s socks off with my tried and trusted blackberry cobbler. I was so excited and pumped cooking that first Thanksgiving meal, that I used coffee creamer in place of granulated sugar.
We make it through the main course and I’m thinking it’s my time to shine so I bring out my blackberry cobbler, that I’m just proud as a peacock of…and dish it out. Oh my goodness!!! Mouths and lips started curling, and puckering, and my heart was broke. We laugh about that every Thanksgiving and I have to admit I learnt a valuable lesson, pay close attention when feeling overly confident. And never ever store coffee creamer in those white and blue matching Tupperware canisters. Haha.
Happy Thanksgiving to all and rock out that blackberry cobbler this year!

Thanksgiving 2020 was the worst Thanksgiving day ever. Covid ruined everything! I’m thankful that it’s a distant memory , hopefully never to be repeated. Here’s to an awesome turkey day 2021!

My best Thanksgiving was the ones with my dad, he would always help with things like chopping onions or tasting all the goodies, he passed 5 years ago and Thanksgiving just isn’t the same
