I love a hanging grow light. My goal for my grow lights is always to try to replicate the sun as much as possible, so I’m always looking for grow lights with high PPFD that can shine from above. Sansi’s 40W smart light was the perfect solution for so many reasons.
When I got my new hanging light I knew exactly where it was going. This photo below is the setup I had at the time. It wasn’t necessarily a bad setup, but it wasn’t enough light for the size and number of plants I had there (I already had to move some because they were struggling here). I had other plants I wanted to put there but I really didn’t want to have multiple lights in the area. Plus it was kind of messy looking. The plants weren’t happy. I wasn’t happy. Something had to change.
Enter: Sansi’s 40W hanging light. Bright enough to cover a larger area of plants and super sleek looking so I didn’t feel like it took away from the aesthetic. And I only needed one light for the entire area.
The setup was super easy. I just had to predrill a hole and hammer in the anchor, screw the first part of the cord holder into the anchor, run the cord through, then cover it with the other half of the cord holder.
The light has an app that lets you increase the brightness and set a schedule for turning it on and off. I love this because I tend to have my lights on for a longer time than most grow light timers offer. So I set mine to turn on at 5am and off at 9pm. I also have it set up to my Alexa so I can tell her to turn it on or off.
With where the grow light is situated my plants are getting between 80 and 200 μmol/m²/s, which is plenty for the plants I keep. But if I needed something with more light I could easily just lower it a bit. Now I can finally keep a plant collection alive here in this spot! And it is cat approved.
