This product works extremely well. I feel more rested more refreshed and have less tension headaches upon waking . I fall back to sleep much easier after late nite Bathroom breaks or (cheesecake raids).

This is a surprisingly bright bulb, it’s kind of hard to compare because the red color intensity is itself sooo overwhelming but it feels like at least the equivalent of a 60W to me in visual brightness, maybe even higher (80W?)… it’s a lot haha! Definitely not a “soft” light imo, but if you’re looking for something to turn on that gives you lots of midnight visibility without shocking your eyes with blue light, this definitely delivers.The bulb size is as indicated and fit a US standard lamp socket nicely. Overall, this felt really functional to me especially for the price. My spouse even commented on it positively and was also impressed by the redness.Just know that this… isn’t exactly a “cozy firelight” kind of red. In fact it almost looks like a cool-leaning “red light district” kind of red to me lol, like that color really hits the eyes! I’m even using a natural fiber, beige-warm leaning lampshade and still… I know the Sansi brand because they make some fabulously intense/bright plant lights (that keep my indoor greenery alive even though the dreary sun-starved winter months where I live)… but this one does kind of look like an indoor seedling grow lamp in color temperature and intensity haha. So that is what I did for about 3 weeks.Before talking about my experience, lets address the actual science of red light as it pertains to sleep. In short, red light is less disruptive to sleep than other lights on the spectrum. That is confirmed science. Other spectrums and especially blue light has been show to disrupt your circadian rhythm. Red light is substantially less disturbing, but there's very little and no consistent evidence that shows it actually promotes better, more restful sleep.So why do people swear by red light helping them sleep? For the same reason people feel so much better drinking hydrogen water out of a special bottle that enriches water with more hydrogen. Because you paid money for something that encourages you to develop a better habit around something vital to your health. You paid for an expensive bottle and now you're drinking more water. You bought a red light and now you're getting in bed and reading with less blue light invading your retinas. You also can't ever discount the placebo effect. Now does that mean hydrogen bottles and red lights don't have value? No. Anything that helps you develop better habits for your health holds massive value. Especially if you believe it works and you're not coming into it full of skepticism.Enough of my diatribe about the science of habits and placebo. How did this work for me? Well, I found myself getting in bed and reading before bed and that in turn led to me getting tired earlier and sleeping better. My average sleep score was 3 points higher on average per night. And that is against years of data. I found it a little difficult to read by at first, but my eyes adjusted and now, I actually rather enjoy reading by my red light.I like that you get a remote that can swap the bulb between red and white light and that you can dim or brighten the bulb with the remote and even set a timer. It's very bright at its brightest setting. Too bright for me. But one click below full was great.In terms of the quality of the bulb. It feels solid. No rattling or loose pieces and has a substantial weight to it. I can't really tell you how long it will last as I've had it less than a month. But it feels nice and it's as easy to use as screwing in a light bulb into a lamp or light fixture.I'm not a fan of the slightly misleading claims that red light alone will promote better sleep. But I guess it also doesn't sound as good as it promotes better habits. People like to feel like something is taking some of the burden off of their shoulders.I can't give a $50 light bulb with shaky science behind it five stars. I just can't. But it's worthy of four stars for me. And if you feel like it will help you and it does end up helping you, then it's a worthwhile investment. Sleep is vital to our health and anything that helps you sleep better without chemical assistance is a great thing.
