This floor lamp's light panel can be turned on upward (uplight) or downward (down light). The brightness, color temperature is adjustable. It's very easy to assemble, just screw in around 10 screws (included) but you do need another person's help because it's so heavy. It's super HEAVY and sturdy. The light it gives out is full spectrum and eye friendly. There's also an "Auto" mode which the light will stay on when motion is detected and will turn off the light 30 seconds after you leave (this feature doesn't seem to work on mine. I turned on the light, left the room for half an hour and it never turned itself off. There's also a "Tomato clock" feature when activated the lamp will turn on for 25 minutes and go off for 5 minutes (suppose to remind you to take a break, walk around or just rest you eyes). This feature also doesn't work on mine. Maybe I got a defective lamp because the box was all torn up when delivered. Even without those 2 features (which I don't really need), I am more than satisfied with this lamp. It's beautiful, modern style, full of adjustable features (brightness, color temperature, up and/or down lights, super bright, eye friendly and made of solid and super heavy, super sturdy metal). If you can afford or have the budget for it, it's a great floor lamp that can fit in most rooms and environments. Highly, Highly Recommend.
