My best memories of Thanksgiving starts with what we call the Grand Tour. Really it is a road trip when off to the grandparents’ house we go. Our maternal and paternal grands live a bit more than 2 hours a part. We’d arrive a day or two before Thanksgiving. Have breakfast/brunch with my father’s family then hit the road. We’d arrive in time to play and then have dinner with my my mother’s family.

One year I cooked a turkey and forgot to pull the sack containing the neck, gizzard, and heart out of the birds cavity. It baked up just fine so I just threq out those parts and sliced up all tbe rest of the bird. Never did tbat a second time.
I loved when the whole family could be together to enjoy each other..miss them all
I am one that lives the food,hates the drama. Just remember folks you can change your environment and volunteer or stay home without the drama. So On another note,my first pumpkin pie ! Made on my own I had a baby and stores were closed…I tried to sub out formula for condensed milk…it doesn’t work…you get soup. Don’t forget to defrost the turkey…use a cooler…and if you are doing a dinner,invite a vet or senior citizen over,or make a plate at least. Happy holidays!
