Since it seems like I might be the only one using this for legal plants, I just thought I'd point out that this also works great for houseplants :) My poor Schefflera has been surviving in our living room for years but not really thriving, but it really likes this light- it's already grown 3 new leaf segments in the last few weeks, which is about what it grew last year.
The bulb itself is quite nice; it's got a good heft to it from the giant heatsink, it doesn't really warm up to the touch (in an desk lamp style fixture), and the beam is fairly narrow, which is something I wanted. With a light aimed downwards from above eye level, I didn't want to be staring at the profile of a light bulb all day, but this is quite focused, and even edge-on there's no real side illumination from the LEDs. The projected light is nice and white, although it has an interesting "fringe" on the very edge.
All in all, it's a little expensive, but I'd really recommend this for a single-plant grow light.

The SANSI LED Full Cycle Grow Light are great LED grow lights that do not have that unnatural purple color. I have a very small two shelf space where I grow my orchids and these lights offer more than enough light. I do notice that there is s distinct "spot light" effect so if you are on the near side of the recommended distance you may find a sharp fall off on the edges. If you have the space to give them some distance you will find that the coverage is just fine. I created some diffusion panels that lessened the intensity at the center, softened the edges, and widened the coverage. I can not speak to longevity but they are built well and I am happy with this purchase,

but it looks like daylight.
Note that this bulb is huge. Had to take my mount apart for it to fit. Works as intended though. I don??t have a spetrophotometer to check it, but it looks like daylight.

Pay for it. It's worth it.
Awesome light! Sansi lights are well made and work extremely well and shipping service return service hands down, the best!
I love the low wattage and temp. Basil looks happy.
Very well constructed and produces a good strong light for only a 15w light
Very well constructed and produces a good strong light for only a 15w light. Very impressed, I will be buying more in the future.

I've had this grow light for about two weeks now and have been using it for about 12 hours a day. I am noticing distinct improvement in the health of my indoor plants. The light is study and fits fairly conventionally sized desk/architecture lamps with ease. It runs fairly cool and it's as easy to install as any ordinary lightbulb. The diameter of luminance is a tad small if you have several plants that need light. But, for its asking price you can simply buy more to have better coverage. Overall, I am very satisfied with this bulb. I will be buying two more and possibly one of the blooming bulbs later as well. If you want an easy way to get your indoor plants some light, then this is what you need.
High quality product with a great design for cooling and dissipating the heat.
Very good quality and everything the description states. A good choice for the amatuer gardener.
Very pleased with purchase, and have since bought several more
This review is for the "Full Cycle" version. The "Full Cycle" covers the full light spectrum (light energy is somewhat evenly distributed across the "blue", "green", & "red" spectrum. And comes off visibly as white / slightly warm hue.
Light distribution is nice and even. Build quality is amazing. Comes with 5yr warranty.
I placed it side to side to my Ott-Lite 20w CFL (florescent) grow bulb. The Sansi 15w is far brighter, than the Ott-Lite 20w. The Ott-Lite 20w I place ~12" above the garden vegetable plants I started inside. The Sansi 15W I place ~16" above the garden vegetable plants I started inside.
I am very pleased with purchase, and have since bought several more.
Does this fit a standard bulb socket？And can anyone recommend a lamp to use with this grow light?
answered by Lillian Ammann (Lillie) 2017-12-27
Yes, it fits a standard socket. It is quite heavy, however. I have it in a desktop gooseneck lamp over a small plant, but if I bend the gooseneck too far, the lamp falls over because of the weight of the bulb. I have used similar bulbs in clamp-on sockets with reflectors, like a shop light kind of setup.

For plant growing, is the white light much better than the red light? I have never tried a white grow light.
